Sea Biscuit

The Story...

Sea Biscuit, the boat, is named after the sea shell, Sea Biscuit, or Clypeaster Subdepressus.  Sea Biscuit is in the same family as sea urchins, including spiny sea urchins.  When dried out, it is remarkably like a seashell, but actually called a "test".  The material after death, which washes on shore, is very thin and fragile, but renders a beautiful and rare piece of art.

When we began looking for a boat suitable for cruising, we also began to think of a name.  After we spent countless hours scouring beaches for a sea biscuit, and found only a few, we decided on Sea Biscuit as the name for our boat.
